Area-Based Funds

Local Area Funds enable donors to target giving to a particular borough or across several areas.
Local Area Funds enable donors to target giving to a particular borough or across several areas.

Area-based funds allow you to target your giving to a particular location whether it is a ward, a borough or multiple boroughs. From our early days, we have been passionate about enabling local people to make a difference to the communities in which they live.

You can keep up to date with news from the funds, learn more about the groups supported and donate online by clicking on the links below.

Lambeth Giving
Donations to the Lambeth Giving fund are divided between six local groups who are providing opportunities for young people at risk, improving quality of life for older people and supporting people with mental health issues.

GiveCamden
Donations to GiveCamden support five local groups tackling issues such as unemployment, isolation of older people, homelessness and debt advice.

Love Kingston
Love Kingston supports five local groups tackling issues such as food poverty, homelessness, domestic violence and debt advice.

Bromley Community Fund
To date, the Bromley Community Fund has supported projects tackling issues such as mental health, social isolation, community cohesion and child poverty. Learn more about the Bromley Community Fund.

Westminster Fund
The Westminster Fund has supported projects tackling issues such as young people at risk, employability, homelessness and the local environment. You can learn more about the Westminster Fund through founding partners Land Securities here.

Elephant and Castle Community Fund
The Elephant and Castle Community Fund aims to build on the strengths of local people, celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the area, and support the people who are most at need in this time of change.

We also have special initiatives working in specific boroughs and areas of London.

Hammersmith and Fulham Opportunity Fund
The Hammersmith and Fulham Opportunity Fund enables children in care to take part in life-enhancing activities that some other children may take for granted. That could be something as simple as taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, pursuing a passion like music, sport or art or paying for driving lessons. Donations of any amount are accepted in to the fund and young people in the care of the borough can then apply for small grants.

Building Communities in Coldharbour
Building Communities in Coldharbour is a community development initiative focused in Coldharbour ward, Lambeth, encouraging residents in Loughborough Junction and the surrounding area to contribute their skills, ideas and time to improving the area for the whole community.

If you would like to donate to any of the funds please contact our Development Team on 020 75825117.

You can send a cheque made out to The London Community Foundation to Unit 7 Piano House, 9 Brighton Terrace, London, SW9 8DJ. Please write the fund name on the back of the cheque.

We say

"Our area-based fundholders are able to directly support the parts of London which they live or work in and care about the most. They make a difference to their local communities and help to improve the lives and conditions for others in the area."

They say

“Bromley Community Fund provides, in my opinion, the most exciting and positive opportunity that I have come across to help and support the variety of small local charities and other voluntary organisations in a way that is simply not available elsewhere.”
