Grenfell Tower Emergency Appeal
Thursday 14 June, 2017
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund in the aftermath of the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower. London’s community spirit and generosity have shone through when local people need it most.
Over the next 48 hours we will provide financial support to the voluntary organisations, churches and community centres and groups at the front line in the area local to Grenfell Tower. Our priority is to ensure that immediate relief is provided to those affected. These funds will ensure organisations have the additional capacity required to serve the immediate needs of those affected. Many of these will be giving support and advice, medical supplies and equipment, and need help with transport and storage costs.
In the coming weeks and months, we will be supporting residents of Grenfell Tower as they begin to resettle. We will structure a programme of longer term grants towards counselling, medical assistance and allowances for furniture and household items. We will also be setting up an online application form for people to apply for immediate hardship funds.
On behalf of all those who have responded so generously to this disaster, we will do everything in our power to help bring the community back to where it was before this terrible incident happened. If you would like to make a donation to the fund, please do so via CAF or JustGiving.
Please keep up to date with our News section for daily updates from 20th June.
